About the Artist
Mandar Wagholikar
Award-winning artist captivated by the magic of nature — and the healing, spiritual connection that painting can offer.
After more than a decade in the fast-paced world of New York finance, Mandar returned to his true calling: painting. Trained as an engineer with an MBA, he spent 16 years in the corporate world — including 12 on Wall Street — before turning fully to the lifelong pursuit of art. Since moving to California in 2014, he’s found endless inspiration in the stunning landscapes of the West Coast — especially the cherished views of Alameda and the San Francisco Bay.
Mandar’s signature energetic style, brought to life with soft pastels, captures the visual splendor of these scenes while sharing the profound sense of connection he believes art offers. He draws inspiration from artists like Sergei Bongart, Nicolai Fechin, Konstantin Korovin, and Claude Monet — masters who continue to guide him on this path. His talent has been recognized in the Alameda Sun and Alameda Magazine, and by the People’s Choice Award at the 2017 Plein Air Paint Out, where he stood out among forty accomplished artists.

“Mandar has a wonderful positive and encouraging teaching style. He is incredibly patient and extremely knowledgeable — without reservation, I would highly recommend taking art classes from him.”
